Lincoln County Hay Marketing Association

The "hay marketing" project is aimed at enhancing the quality of hay that is marketed to livestock producers by quantifying the quality of the hay. The program, funded in part by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Ag. Development Fund from the sale of Ag. Tag License Plates, provides demonstrations aimed at increasing forage quality through lab-tested hay and bales on known weight. The Lincoln County Livestock Association, with cooperation and leadership from the Lincoln County Agricultural Extension Service, The Agricultural Development Center and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, is sponsoring the program. The program has made equipment available to take forage samples (including a cordless drill and forage probe) and to electronically record bale weights. The program also provides advertisement of hay that is for sale through the program. Hay that is available in the program is listed at:
