In July
1999, a market development proposal submitted by the ADC was
approved for funding by the USDA Federal-State Marketing Improvement
Program (FSMIP). The project proposed a cooperative effort
between the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the ADC
to:
1) Conduct
and develop case studies with value-added businesses
2) Conduct and evaluate marketing surveys for the case study
enterprises and
3) Utilize the developed resources in training and educational
efforts across the state
