| Dan
joined The University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service
in August 2002 as the Center’s first full-time director.
As director, Dan provides overall coordination and leadership
for the Center and serves in a similar capacity as Department
Head. The director is administratively responsible to the Associate
Dean of Extension. The director provides overall coordination
of Center projects, multi-disciplinary teams, works as a liaison
between subject matter departments and cooperating agencies
and is responsible for the Centers fiscal management. Dan brings
to the Center more than thirty years of experience in Tennessee
agriculture serving as a past CEO of the Tennessee Farm Bureau
Federation and as Commissioner of Tennessee Agriculture from
1995 to 2002. Dan is a native of Cumberland County where he
was raised on a family farm. He holds a BS degree in Animal
Science from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. |
