The Center for Profitable Agriculture (CPA) is pleased to be located on the grounds of the Middle Tennessee Research and Education Center in Spring Hill. While the activities of CPA are primarily UT Extension programs, the Middle Tennessee Research and Education Center provides a great environment and location for the CPA's headquarters. The faculty and staff members of CPA share the research and education center's main office building.

The Middle TN R & E Center was established in 1917 and includes 1,263 acres. It is the site of research studies in beef and dairy cattle, commercial crops, fruit trees and forage crops.

The Middle TN R & E Center conducts research to evaluate varieties of commercial crops, management systems and weed control systems to improve crop production efficiency. It also conducts research on the production and management of fruit and vegetable crops, including peaches, apples, grapes and blueberries.
